Advocating for underserved communities is a cause that is dear to my heart. Having been adopted and diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy I know the struggles of navigating this sometimes unfair and difficult world. I also know the importance of having a community that is supportive in times of despair and in times of joy. Throughout my life I have been blessed with help from some amazing individuals and organizations that do a wonderful job of serving the communities in need. Down below I want to highlight some of these organizations that I believe deserve your attention.

Kennedy Krieger Institute
Located in the Baltimore-Washington, D.C., region, Kennedy Krieger Institute is internationally recognized for improving the lives of tens of thousands of children, adolescents and adults with neurological, rehabilitative or developmental needs through inpatient and day hospital programs, outpatient clinics, home and community services, education, and research.

The Arc
The Arc is the largest national community-based organization advocating for and with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and serving them and their families. We work tirelessly to uphold our vision that every individual and family living with IDD in the United States has access to the information, advocacy, and skills they need to support their full inclusion and participation in the community throughout their lifetimes.

Cerebral Palsy Foundation
People with cerebral palsy rarely get the interventions and supports they need at the moments they need them.  The Cerebral Palsy Foundation is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization that defines and addresses Moments of Impact – the times at which interventions and insights, if properly implemented, have the power to change lives. We work to better understand how to effect change and implement it. Our Collaborative Networks enable real world impact through influential researchers, thinkers, and organizations around the world to drive significant change. We bring together many of the country’s most prestigious medical institutions, as well as innovative thinkers in diverse areas such as technology and media, in order to accelerate the development of critical advances.
